Embracing change through positive affirmations featured
What is an affirmation?
An affirmation is a powerful statement that can change how you think and see yourself. If repeated regularly it can promote empowerment and growth.
How do I write an affirmation?
1. Identify a goal
Spend time reflecting. Is there anything you want to work on? Is there anything you want to achieve? Make a list of your goals. Rank them in order from most important to least. Pick your single most important goal you want to work on (It is best to be concise and to stick with achieving one goal at a time).
Example. My goal is to eat healthy and to exercise more
2. Constructing your statement
Writing your affirmation in the present tense allows you to focus on the current moment. Begin your affirmation with I. “I” is very powerful because it says you are in control and not anyone else. Avoid having a negative tone because it can lead you to self-sabotage your self- worth.
Example.
I am deserving of a healthy body.
Vs.
I deserve a healthy body.
Vs.
I do not deserve a healthy body.
In this example the first sentence is a better choice because it focuses on the current moment and has a positive tone.
3. Incorporating your affirmation
Begin your day by reciting your affirmation in the morning, throughout the day and at night. Eventually, your affirmation will be second nature. Positive affirmations will help empower you to manifest change over time.
Are you ready? What is your affirmation?
